    I would always bring my eco-bag everytime I am going out, this helps reduce the use of plastics.

    I like to reuse my plastic grocery bags for dirty diapers, but I usually return them at grocery stores to recycle. Also turning off power on electronics when I go on trips and making sure I leave the room the light is off.

    Tips: Recycle, use a consignment shop to drop off your clothes and to buy clothes, use a clothes line to dry clothes and keep your heat down.

    My family has been enjoying buying milk in glass bottles at the grocery stores. It is organic and comes from a local farm. My daughter’s favorite part is taking the bottles back to the store to get our $2 deposit back so they can be reused by the farm. She is saving the money for a vacation : ) I love that we are creating less waste, supporting local businesses, and saving energy/resources.

    I bring my own doggy tin when eating out- it helps my waistline b/c I don’t eat just to finish AND doesn’t use up to-go boxes. I also bring my own bambooware & cloth napkin everywhere I go.

    My favorite Eco Tip I learned from my Middle School English Teacher. She would reuse all the office printed paper and we would flip it over to the blank side to do all of our tests and homework! All the scrap paper would have just been thrown away but we re-used!

    My eco-tip is to collect all your plastic bags and take them to the nearest recycling box (like Walmart). It’s amazing how many plastic bags accumulate over the weeks. Places like the Salvation Army and Rescue Mission stores are always looking for plastic bags too.

  26. I recycled my old cranberry juice jugs and now use them to make my own laundry detergent. I also take all of my old crackers, breads, fruits and veggies down to the animal farm down our road so the kids can feed them to the goats, bunnies, and ducks.

    I recycle everything… even clothes! My family does a closet cleaning share day where we all go through each other’s clothes instead of buying new clothes all the time… I also use reusable shopping totes.

    I collect all left over newspaper from anyone I can and bundle it than take it to a local facility that turns it into insulation. It is not only recycled but they offer $.03 per pound.

    It is best that we become conscious of our environment. Only in this way, that we could minimized the harmful effects our waste does to our environment. We should learn to segregate the biodegradable items from the non-biodegradable ones. By doing this, we could eliminate the materials that could clog our rivers and streams. We could reuse other items that are worth recycling. It is never too late to join hands and do our own share.

    We reuse whatever we can. Clothes can be used as hand me downs, sewn into quilts, used as rags, etc…

    If you can’t carry what you buy out of the store then be sure to bring your reusable shopping bag. Plastic shopping bags can take 1000 years to biograde.

    We have stopped buying bottle water and bought reusable bottles with filters. We have always recycled and have always used cold water to wash clothes. Walk to the stores that are walkable or ride a bike instead of driving every were. Anything with in 4 miles we walk or ride a bike to. That is some of the things we do.

    I reuse everything I can. I turn outgrown clothing into new creations for my children, old teeshirts are all upcycled, I purchase clothing at thrift stores, Old Sheets are made into skirts, even fabric shower curtains are reused and made into clothing.

    Don’t toss old clothing. If they are too used to give to thrift stores or trade with friends tear them up and make quilts or even dish rags. Jeans are great for scouring and tshirts make great polishers.

    We try our best to not waste, recycle everything, buy 2nd hand, cloth instead of plastic, turn off lights, use cold water when we can, conserve electricity, and when we do go out get most of our errands done in 1 day so we aren’t out everyday wasting gas.

    If you are like me and love to take walks with your family or pet or just alone to enjoy being outside, take along a bag. Pick up trash and recyclables along your route. Feed your spirit as well as your body!

  65. My daughters and I are reusing all of our Christmas boxes to make fun cardboard houses and cars.

  66. All my shipping for my Etsy and Artfire shops is done with recycled material. Whether packaging I receive from companies from the reviewing I do on my blog to packaging from any purchases I make. My husband sells on Amazon and he does the same. We also recycle everything after it’s use in our household. Thank you for hosting this great giveaway.

    What I do for an Eco tip is…I try to not use my washer or my dryer. I hand wash a lot of our clothes as well as hang them out to dry. And I also unplug everything in our house, unless we are using it.
