I don’t use paper plates, napkins, or plastic utensils. For utensils, I bought a few extra sets cheap at Walmart that I use just for entertaining.

Instead of using disposable cutlery, plates and glasses, we use the ‘real thing’. It keeps the styrofoam, which is not good for the environment, out of the landfills. We have a new energy efficient dishwasher which is even better.

Frankly, I don’t understand why anyone uses disposable cups, plates or cutlery… I’ve always used glass plates and cups and real silverware and especially for special occassions like Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter. It adds to the aura and denotes a “specialness” to the gathering. Thanks!

I eco my party by using regular dishes and utensils and washing them with environmentally responsible dish soap of course :) . I also try to buy local and organic products as much as possible (using reusable grocery bags) and reuse or recycle everything else as necessary. We try very hard to be environmentally responsible in this house and plan to teach our son the same as he gets older :)
